Grants & Loans
For energy efficiency & renewable energy installations, financial help is currently available for everybody in Britain.
We advise on and help with applications for those grants and loans that are directly relevant to your unique circumstances and we incorporate them in our cost benefit analysis through our Treadlighter Plus and Business consultancy services.
A combination of Loans, Grants and Feed-in-Tariffs can all be incorporated to give very attractive pay-back periods. |
Capital Grants
There are currently no capital grants available for renewable energy / microgeneration installations.
0% Loans
These energy efficiency loans are for UK SME companies, communities & charities. They are designed to save a similar amount of energy as the length of the loan, in other words requiring no capital outlay and paying for themselves over three or four years. They start from as little as £3,000 up to maximum of £100,000. |

Income Generation
Feed-in-Tariffs for electricity generation were introduced by the Government in April 2010. They allow you to be paid for the number of kilowatt hours (units) of electricity you generate, regardless of where the electricity is used. These incentives are tax-free and index-linked for up to 25 years. In addition you will also receive lower bills from generating some of the electricity that you use, a win-win situation!
Tax Benefits
Value Added Tax (VAT) At a reduced rate of 5% for some energy efficiency measures and for nearly all residential small-scale renewable energy installations. This includes everything required to install it, even scaffolding.
Landlords Energy Saving Allowance (LESA) Allows landlords in the UK domestic sector to claim up to £1,500 against tax every year for installing energy efficient products.
Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) Allows Corporations to claim up to 100% capital allowance in the first year for energy efficiency technologies and some renewable installations. |
