An Air Source heat Pump transfers low grade heat from ambient air into useful heat for space heating or hot water. Heat can be usefully extracted from very low air temperatures, well below zero degrees centigrade.
The usual method for the domestic market is a vapor compression and expansion cycle, as used in an air conditioning unit but in reverse for heat.
This sustainable technology consumes electricity very efficiently using two to five times less energy than the most efficient condensing boiler. For each unit of electrical energy consumed you can extract between 2 and 5 units of heat; this is called the coefficient of performance or COP.
A very efficient use of this technology is with under floor heating or for ambient heating or cooling. aranteed for 20 years.
Factoring in these payments payback periods run at approximately 10 years.
Our Treadlighter Plus™ energy survey includes a detailed suitability assessment leading to system design, specification and a complete installation, commissioning and certification service. |
