Micro Wind Turbine |
Most people are familiar with wind turbines, which convert wind energy into electricity. While most of the turbines you will have seen are huge devices that are sited on hillsides or offshore there are smaller versions that can be used in a domestic setting.
The latest generation turbines are called Vertical Axis Wind Turbines. As the name implies they spin around a vertical axis and they can be made much smaller, to suit domestic use. Large parts of the UK have abundant ‘wind resources’ and these VAWTs can be fitted to roofs more cheaply and easily than traditional turbines.
Micro Wind systems will not only reduce your electricity bill, but with the Government’s Feed-in-Tariffs (FIT) you will also benefit from a guaranteed tax-free, index-linked income for the next 20 years! In addition you will be able to sell any excess electricity back to the National Grid.
Our Treadlighter Plus™ energy survey includes a detailed suitability assessment leading to system design, specification and a complete installation, commissioning and certification service.
