101 George Street is the world’s tallest modular building housing 546 Build-to-Rent Apartments in two towers reaching 44 and 38 storeys tall.

By manufacturing the buildings inside a controlled factory environment, the project was completed in just over two years – half the time it would have taken using traditional methods of construction.

This new development showcases the very best of British design, engineering and offsite technology.

Commissioned by Tide Construction we designed and installed a 43.09 kWp Solar PV system across the roofs of each tower ensuring compliance with both Part L of the Building Regulations and the London Plan.

With the majority of the solar electricity generated used in the buildings, the towers benefit from reducing their grid electricity requirement and saving 14 tons of CO2 per annum.

Needless to say at 136m above ground level, these are the highest Solar PV systems we have installed to date.
